Dmae Roberts features two backstage interviews at her home studio about two Shakespeare plays about to open in Portland at two different companies: Portland Shakespeare Project and Post 5 Theatre.
First she talks with founding artistic director Michael Mendelson of the Portland Shakespeare Project. They’re producing The Tempest at Artists Rep’s Alder stage. The production stars veteran actress Linda Alper as “Prospera” a magical role usually performed by a male actor.
PSP is also presenting a staged reading of The Admirable Crichton by J.M. Barrie (of Peter Pan fame) directed by Jon Kretzu.
And in the latter part of the show we hear from director Avital Shira about Shakespeare ‘s Love’s Labor’s Lost at Post 5 Theatre being performed at the Lacroute courtyard of Milepost 5.
